Meanwhile... sailing in Boston

Beautiful new sails on the MIT Sailing boats, but what's that hard white stuff all over the water?

    White stuff on Charles River: Which it's solid-state H-2-0. A
    crystaline version of water (also know as snow or ice) useful for such
    exotic instruments as skates, skis, pucks, sticks and so-called "snow"
    boards (all taking up room in various living spaces here), plus quaint
    animal-powered transportation devices like troikas (and other vehicles
    -- even some sporting sails -- many of which inevitably plunge into
    "snow" banks after terrifying but fun skidding, which is usually
    followed by very too tiresome "snow" -- that word again -- shoveling)
    all of which traditionally leads to therapeutic consumption of strong
    alcoholic mixtures that, by pure coincidence, make abundant use of the
    aforementioned solid-state stuff (how symbiotic). On this planet at
    sea level, requires temperatures below 32F: INCONCEIVABLE!!! FROM JC via Nina
